#4. Spirit Songs
“Spirit Songs” is a set of nine songs intended for modern Christian worship, each inspired by the fruits of the spirit. While I made demos and shopped them around, there exist no public recordings or sheet music. So this one is just here so that my records are complete. I have the files for myself, but I have no plans to release them.
#3. The Magic Shoes v0.82
In the summer of 2017 I decided to create a tiny video game in order to practice my coding/design skills. If you couldn’t tell from the aesthetic, I pulled the style of the game from the computers of the early 80s… specifically the IBM PC, with its CGA four-color graphics and single-channel beeper audio. What soundtrack there is is incredibly tiny, but for the completionists out there I’ve included this project. I’m not selling or broadcasting the soundtrack since it’s too small to really be of any substance on Spotify or such. However, you can download the game for free off itch.io. Windows 10 only.
#2. The World Is Too Big
“The World Is Too Big” is a song cycle initially written for a performance at Earth Day 2017 by the TangleTown Trio. It was also performed at the Seattle Folklife Festival and the Governor’s Chamber Series (also in 2017). Studio tracks have been made, though I don’t believe they were ever made available. Instead, I have released them on YouTube just so someone in the world gets to hear them.
The song cycle has four tunes. “Mother Earth,” the first, is a humorous attempt to answer the question of what our relationship is with nature. Next is “What Do You See When You See The Mountains?” which asks us to look beyond the thing we’re looking at and see what it really means. This is followed by “Behold The Mighty River,” an Ogden Nash-y poem that says the opposite: that there is nothing beyond the things we see. Finally, the cycle ends with “If I Had Just One Complaint,” a total rip-off of a Stephen Sondheim tune I’m sure.
#1. The Rainbow Collection
“The Rainbow Collection,” written and published in 2016, is a set of short piano solo pieces inspired by the colors of the (CYMK) rainbow. I recommend this set for teachers and students, as each piece focuses on a particular technique, and the set covers varying difficulty levels from intermediate and up.
Pieces:
1. White
2. Blue
3. Green
4. Red
5. Yellow
6. Purple (Magenta)
7. Cyan
